Price ladder calculator
See how your cost per unit becomes a shelf price once you, a distributor, and a store each take a margin. Or work backward from the shelf price you want to the most you can pay per unit. Your numbers stay in your browser.
Shelf price$0.00
You sell it for$0.00
Distributor sells it to the store for$0.00
You keep per unit$0.00
Margin is not markup
- Margin is the share of the selling price someone keeps. A 40% margin on a $10 sale is $4.
- Markup is added on top of cost. A 40% markup on $6 is $8.40, which is only a 29% margin.
- Stores and distributors usually talk in margin, so this calculator uses margin at every step. Ask each buyer which one they mean.
